ALI HAYDAR KONCA HAS BEEN APPOINTED AS NEW MINISTER FOR EU AFFAIRS

Ali Haydar Konca has been appointed as Minister for EU Affairs in the Interim Government which has been approved by President Erdoğan on 28 August 2015.

Member of HDP Ali Haydar Konca was born on 1 February 1950 in Muş.  He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Ankara in 1971. Until the 1980 military coup, he served as district governor of different cities. Following the coup, Konca served as district governor in Hassa, Çüngüş and Sürmene. Later, he was appointed to the Directorate of Legal Affairs of Kocaeli Province. Following his resignation, Konca pursued his professional life as a freelance lawyer. In the 1989 local elections, Konca was elected as municipal councillor from the Social Democratic Populist Party (SHP). But later, Konca later resigned from his party and his position.
