IMF Senior Resident Representative in Turkey Srikant Seshadri visited IKV and DEIK Chairman Ömer Cihad Vardan at his headquarters on the 28^th October 2014. Seshadri, who has been appointed to the position of Director for Turkey at the IMF since 8 of August, presented information on IMF’s activities and on relations with Turkey. He also expressed his wish to work in cooperation with both IKV and DEIK. Seshadri also expressed the importance of the appointment of Undersecretary from the Treasury Ibrahim Çanakçı as the IMF Executive Director since the 1^st November. He thus stressed the increasing importance and role of Turkey within the IMF.

IKV and DEIK Chairman Vardan gave detailed information on the main objectives and activities carried out by both institutions he is presiding to Seshadri. IKV Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Nas and Mustafa Oğuz from DEIK Strategy Department also joined the meeting. Turkish economy, Turkey-EU relations, growing markets and the latest regional developments were the other main topics discussed during the meeting.
