IKV VICE PRESIDENT WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT OF ELFA
IKV Vice President Prof. Dr. Halûk Kabaalioğlu was elected President of the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA) on the 20th March 2014.
ELFA which has approximately 250 members of European Law Faculties from various countries within the European Union brings to daylight the latest development in legal topics and the problems encountered by law faculties.
In 2009, Prof. Dr. Halûk Kabaalioğlu who has been appointed as a member of ELFA Board of Directors also serves as the Vice President of IKV, Dean of the Yeditepe University Law Faculty, President of the Turkish Association for European Community Studies (TUNAECS) and Jean Monnet Professor of EU Law.
After his studies in Istanbul Law Faculty, Prof. Dr. Halûk Kabaalioğlu received his Master Degree in Law from the Columbia University and VUB Free University of Brussels. Prof. He was Senior Fulbright Scholar at the University of Virginia School of Law during 1984/85 and Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence.
Prof. Dr. Halûk Kabaalioğlu was also President of Marmara University European Union Institute during the period covering the years between 1987 and 1995. Between 1998 and 2002, Prof. Dr. Kabaalioğlu served also at the Permanent Representation of Turkey to the European Union as expert counsellor.
Prof. Dr. Halûk Kabaalioğlu who served on the Board of Directors for 18 years was also the President of IKV for the last seven years.
Kabaalioğlu has lectured in more than 70 foreign universities, and was honored the “foreign chair” in Gent University last year.
