A panel entitled “New Agenda in EU-Turkey Relations” was held on the 24th March 2014 in Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University International Relations Department organized in cooperation with Ankara University Jean Monnet Chair.

Following the welcoming speech delivered by the Vice-Rector of Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Sinan Baş, Vice-Governor of Kahramanmaraş Dr. Erkan Bulgan emphasized the importance of organizing this kind of seminars in terms of raising the awareness on Turkey-EU relations.

The panel “New agenda in Turkey-EU relations” was chaired by Ankara University Professor of Jean Monnet Chair Belgin Akçay. In this panel, Ministry for EU Affairs Deputy Undersecretary Burak Erdenir and IKV Deputy Secretary General Melih Özsöz tackled the visa issue and the Readmission Agreement within Turkey-EU Affairs. Former Deputy Undersecretary from Ministry of Economy Cemalettin Damlacı spoke about the new generation of free trade agreements and Turkey-EU Customs Union. Lastly Prof. Dr. Tuğrul Arat from TOBB Economics and Technology University analyzed Turley-EU relations in the light of the recent developments.
